This Privacy Policy explains how Charis Digital LLC ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use the Dog Life OS website at doglifeos.com and the Dog Life OS mobile app (together, the "Services").
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. Account details (such as name and email), your dogs' profiles (name, breed, age, photos) and health information you choose to add (records, vaccines, medications, allergies, symptoms, logs, documents and photos), and messages you send us.
Information from features you choose to use.
- Location. Precise location when you use walk tracking, the park finder or a Lost Dog alert. We use it only for those features. Walks keep tracking in the background only while a walk you started is in progress.
- Camera and photos. Photos you take or choose, for example of food labels, stool samples for the GI tracker, documents, or your dog. We access the camera or your photo library only when you use one of these features.
- Connected devices. If you connect a wearable or smart collar, activity and vitals data such as steps, distance and heart rate.
- Community content. Posts, comments, photos and your display name when you use the community feed, along with the general area needed to show posts to people nearby.
- Caregivers. Names and email addresses of people you invite to help care for your dog.
- Notifications. A device token so we can send the reminders and alerts you turn on.
You can turn off location, camera, photo and notification access at any time in your device settings. Features that need them will stop working until you turn access back on.
Information collected automatically. When you use the app: device type, operating system, app version, crash and performance data, and basic usage events. When you visit the website: standard server logs recorded by our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested, date and time).
Information from partners. If you use an affiliate link, the partner may tell us that a referral occurred so we can be credited. We do not receive your insurance, medical or payment details from them.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain and improve the Services and their features, including reminders and insights.
- To generate AI-powered results you request, such as symptom correlations, food label checks and photo analysis.
- To power location features such as walk tracking, nearby parks and Lost Dog alerts.
- To run the community feed, including reviewing reported content and enforcing our rules.
- To communicate with you, including service messages and, if you ask, launch news.
- To keep the Services secure, prevent abuse and comply with law.
3. AI features
When you use an AI feature, the content needed for that request (for example, a photo or logged symptoms) may be processed by a third-party AI service provider acting on our behalf, only to return your result. AI output is informational and may be inaccurate; it is not veterinary advice.
4. How we share information
- Service providers that host, secure and operate the Services (for example, cloud hosting, email delivery, crash reporting and AI processing), under obligations to protect your data.
- People you choose. When you share your dog's QR chart, anyone with that link or code can view the shared information until you revoke it. Caregivers you invite can see the dog profiles and records you share with them.
- Other users. Community posts, comments and your display name are visible to other users nearby. When you send a Lost Dog alert, your dog's photo, description and last-seen area are shared with nearby users and local shelters.
- App stores. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; we do not receive your full payment card details.
- Legal and safety reasons, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We never share your dog's health data with insurers or other partners unless you direct us to.
5. Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your information within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer by law. Content removed for breaking our rules may be kept for a limited time to handle reports, appeals or legal requests.
6. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your information in the app or by emailing hello@doglifeos.com. Depending on where you live (for example, California, other U.S. states, the EEA or the UK), you may also have rights to know, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to appeal our decision. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights, and we respond within the time the law requires.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If changes are significant, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
